Serves: ~5

Ingredients

1 lb Lean Ground Turkey

1/2 onion (finely diced)

1/2 Sweet Red Pepper (finely diced)

1 habanero or red chili (finely diced)

2 cloves Garlic (minced)

1 Tbsp fresh rosemary (finely chopped)

1 Tbsp fresh thyme (finely chopped)

1/2 cup fresh parsley (finely chopped)

1 tsp Garlic Powder

1 tsp Paprika

1/2 tsp Chipotle Powder

1/2 Tbsp Coarse Salt

1/2 tsp Black Pepper

Garnish:

Brioche Burger Buns

Cheddar Cheese (Sliced)

Avocado

Dijon Mustard

Tomatoes

Equipment:

Non-stick Skillet with lit (or Aluminum Foil)

Stovetop

Large Mixing Bowl

Fish Spatula

Directions:

  1. Prep: Finely chop onions, bell pepper, habanero pepper, and herbs and add to a large mixing bowl

  2. Add ground turkey to the mixing bowl with seasonings. Use your hands and thoroughly mix together

  3. Taste Test: Once thoroughly mixed, take a teaspoon of the ground beef and fry over medium to medium-high heat. It is important to taste test before forming all your patties. This is the best time you properly season your patties. Don’t skip it!

  4. Form Patties: Weigh out roughly 113g (quarter pound) of the ground meat and form them into 1-inch patties

  5. Fry: Using the oil of your choice, pan-fry the patties for 3-5 minutes per side. Or until the internal temperature reaches 160F. Once just about cooked, place a slice of cheese on each patty. Add about a tablespoon of water to the pan and cover. This will allow the cheese to fully melt.

  6. Plate & Enjoy: Lightly toast your burger buns before spreading dijon mustard. Make the perfect burger by layering avocado slices, tomatoes, burger patty, and the top bun. Enjoy!
